Fall and early winter are the best time to install shrubs and trees here in metro Atlanta. Ideal soil temperatures for root growth are between 55-75 degrees at 6″ deep, which frequently lasts through the end of January. In addition, installing plants while they are sleeping in the winter time makes for less stress and moisture loss for the plants. When they wake up in spring, they will be in place and ready for the biggest growth of roots and shoots of the year. If you’re considering a facelift for your yard, make an appointment with our designer this summer so you will be ready to plant by the fall/winter.
