Dry Creek Beds

Properly-installed dry creek beds provide beauty and function to your water-runoff areas. Our creek beds are more than just a few river rocks laid on the ground. Shady Grove digs a V-shaped trench that we line with landscape fabric. Next we install a slotted drain pipe covered with large gravel and topped with decorative river rock and accent boulders. This design creates a giant catch basin that gathers and redirects any water that flows into its path. The termination of the creek bed can dissipate water, or the pipe can be extended underground with solid drain pipe to a storm water inlet or natural area. Shady Grove has used dry creek beds to alleviate erosion, unsightly runoff areas, and to catch and redirect water in hundreds of locations in metro Atlanta.
