The History of Shady Grove

With a college degree in horticulture, a passion for outdoor living and a burning desire to beautify the world around me, I joined a small landscape maintenance business in 2004 and slowly began contributing to design and installation of gardens and hardscapes while raising my two young boys. I took over running the installation division in 2007 and gradually spent more and more of my time creating art with stone, plants and wood. After moving on from the partnership from the maintenance company in 2017, I became the sole owner, creative and financial director, and visionary for the company. The true strength of our company,  however, will always remain in our long-term every-day relationships with our hard-working craftsmen, our knowledgeable vendors and our treasured family of clients.

I hold two Ornamental Horticulture degrees and am erosion control certified. Shady Grove has installed thousands of designs, water features, stone walls, patios, and fire pits. Is there a PhD in experience? We’ve been recognized by MALTA (Metro Atlanta Landscape & Turf Association) and the Urban Ag Council with the 2009 Award of Distinction & the 2011 Award for Landscape Installation. In 2010-11, we appeared on five episodes of HGTV’s Curb Appeal and were also highlighted on HGTV’s Elbow room.

Shady Grove’s success has allowed us to remain a small, boutique landscape firm. Almost like another child, I have raised the business to be strong, financially conservative, honest and true to its word. We are a team of dynamic, creative people and systems that strive to do our best in every situation.
